Vision, Mission, and Core Beliefs

About

Our ultimate goal for the newly envisioned Arkansas Leadership Academy is to realize educational equity and excellence for Arkansas students. Our vision is to be the state’s premier leadership development hub, where all educational leaders find professional learning pathways to best meet their needs while developing leadership capacity to result in systemic change, leading to improved teaching and learning.

APSRC was unanimously approved by the State Board of Education on December 10, 2020, to be the new operator for the Arkansas Leadership Academy beginning July 1, 2021. APSRC has partnered with Arkansas State University and EDUTAS at the University of Oklahoma.

The Arkansas Leadership Academy will expand its reach to all regions of the state through a hybrid delivery model of virtual and face-to-face learning. This will provide participants personalized options to leverage their leadership potential from the classroom to the board room while increasing access through universal leadership services available to ALL educators.

The new Arkansas Leadership Academy will:

  • Be a change agent supporting student-focused education,
  • authentic school improvement outcomes, and
  • Arkansas’s ESSA Plan.

As a comprehensive leadership development program, the following three evidence-based focus areas will pervade all programmatic offerings:

  • Collaborative Leadership
  • Collective Efficacy
  • Cultural Competence
